AP Computer Science A Standards: The Java Application Programmer Interface (API) provides a vast library of prewritten classes (such as System, String, Math, and Scanner) grouped into packages. Code that uses standard library classes must either utilize fully qualified names or import statements (except for the java.lang package, which is automatically imported). You will encounter libraries designed for I/O, mathematical computation, and data manipulation.
